Over two million saunas in Finland

The word ”sauna” comes from Finnish, and it is an important part of daily life in Finland. Traditionally, families bathed together in their own sauna. The total number of saunas in Finland is estimated to be almost 2 million (by comparison, Finland’s population 5.5 million).

At our shorefront accommodation facilities, the sauna can be heated every evening, if the guests so wish. In the sauna, time stands still and the mind rests. Listen to the sound of the water hitting the hot rocks and also listen to yourself: how am I doing today? A guide will teach you about Finnish sauna customs.
